Unless you have a lot of upper body strength, forget about using these things. Good idea I thought, but don’t waste your money. Get a pair of playtex living gloves to pull your pork when it is hot. I gave these away.

I tried to pull a pork shoulder using these bear paws after smoking it and letting it rest for 20 minutes. But as soon as I started pulling, the tips of the claws started melting. What good are they if they can’t handle typical cooking temperatures? Also, the back of the paws/claws are made up of a network of voids that are very dificult to clean. Save your money and look for some steel ones.

These bear paws get the job done but they have open ends that require a brush to clean. If I didnt need something for hot pork butts I would pass on these, but for my purpous they get the job done. Not negative it is just what they are.

These are very handy items to have, it makes picking up hot large items easy and also makes easy work of pulling pork. I did however notice that the tips are already bending. The place I bought them from even loaded me up with some free spice samples. I ended up buying a pound of spices they were so good.
